Hidden in Plain Sight

Updated: Dec 31, 2020

Now here’s an all too familiar moment.

“Where are my keys?” “Has anybody seen my keys?” “I JUST had them!” “They were RIGHT HERE!”

You finally focus and there they are…right in front of you…EXACTLY where you left them. Next comes this line of questioning to your mind.

“Were they really there?” “Did they disappear?” “Am I trippin’?” “Is this magic?”😳

For a hot minute you do feel a little crazy😜 because you KNOW you looked in the place where you found them a minute ago, but they weren’t there! Now comes the final question.

“Well how did I not see it?” ANSWER?! Wait for it! Read REAL slow now.

It’s a familiar phrase but what does it mean? It means what you were looking for was right in front of you all along but you couldn’t see it. The old folks say, “If it was a snake, it would’ve bit you.” So, let’s explore WHY you couldn’t see it. Whelp, when you work yourself into a frenzy you’re not focused. A frenzy is basically an emotional craze. You’re at a peak in your emotions which allows them to blind you. Just to be clear, we’ve moved from the scenario about the keys. Now we’re talking about the frenzy that’s connected to your life, your giftings, your purpose, your dreams and that unction you feel inside but can’t seem to get on the outside. And because you’ve mastered the art of the “Poker Face” façade, this frenzy is not seen by others but internally you are a roaring, emotional mess!! Well let me encourage you today.

That unction you have is your confirmation. There IS more to you than meets the eye and just because you haven’t seen the full manifestation of it yet is no reason to go into a frenzy. The bible says in Philippians 4:6a to “Be anxious for nothing.” That’s another word for frenzy…anxiousness. Relax, Relate, and Release! (per Whitley from that episode of It’s a Different World, remember?😂) There is a time and purpose for everything. God’s Word encourages us to be confident that the good work He began in us, He would complete it. That’s found in Philippians 1:6. This scripture should help further deescalate the frenzy because all of the burden is on God! You don’t have to try and make anything happen you just have to let Him happen! Now I said something right there! But let’s be clear, I’m not endorsing laziness. When God starts working, go with it! Remember, no more MISSED OPPORTUNITIES! (Dec. 1st blog entry)

I’ve heard this principle preached several times and it’s absolutely true, “You have to see it before you see it”. Don’t believe me? Let me encourage you! What is FAITH? According to Hebrews 11:1, it’s what we hope for and it’s the proof of what we cannot see. Faith sees what is “hidden in plain sight”. Need some more encouragement? No problem; I’ve got you! 2 Corinthians 4:18 says “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” This type of sight can only be viewed through FAITH. So, there you have it! Don’t worry about what your natural eyes can’t see right now. Know that manifestation is coming and God is on His job!
